Ride the cable car up Fjellheisen for a wide view over the city and surrounding fjords, or head out after dinner with a local guide who knows where the sky tends to clear.

Lying north of the Arctic Circle, Tromsø has been a departure point for Arctic explorers and hunters since the 18th century.
