YOUR ITINERARY
Land in Athens and settle into your hotel. Walk the neighbourhood for a first look at the city, then take an early night before a full day on the Acropolis.
...Start early at the Acropolis, before the August heat builds, and walk up to the Parthenon. Then visit the Acropolis Museum at the foot of the hill. Your Hop On Hop Off pass covers the rest of the day, so ride the loop to see the rest of the city.
...Spend the morning in Plaka, the old neighbourhood beneath the Acropolis, with its narrow lanes and tavernas. Browse the stalls in Monastiraki, then use the second day of your Hop On Hop Off pass to reach the sights you missed. Finish with sunset from Lycabettus Hill.
...Board in Piraeus after your Athens stay and settle in before the ship sails.
...Kefalonia is an island in the Ionian Sea, west of mainland Greece. It’s marked by sandy coves and dry rugged landscapes. Its capital, Argostoli, is built on a hillside overlooking a narrow harbor. Kefalonia’s indented coastline is made up of limestone cliffs, bays and short strips of white sand, like Myrtos Beach in the north. Many beaches are only accessible on foot or via narrow twisting roads.
...Dubrovnik is a city in southern Croatia fronting the Adriatic Sea. It’s known for its distinctive Old Town, encircled with massive stone walls completed in the 16th century. Its well-preserved buildings range from baroque St. Blaise Church to Renaissance Sponza Palace and Gothic Rector’s Palace, now a history museum. Paved with limestone, the pedestrianized Stradun (or Placa) is lined with shops and restaurants.
...The city walls take around two hours to walk and look over terracotta rooftops to the Adriatic.
...Kotor is a fortified town on Montenegro’s Adriatic coast, in a bay near the limestone cliffs of Mt. Lovćen. Characterized by winding streets and squares, its medieval old town has several Romanesque churches, including Kotor Cathedral. It’s also home to the Maritime Museum, which explores local seafaring history. Sveti Đorđe, one of 2 tiny islands off the ancient town of Perast, features a centuries-old church.
...Bari is a port city on the Adriatic Sea, and the capital of southern Italy’s Puglia region. Its mazelike old town, Barivecchia, occupies a headland between 2 harbors. Surrounded by narrow streets, the 11th-century Basilica di San Nicola, a key pilgrimage site, holds some of St. Nicholas’ remains. To the south, the Murat quarter has stately 19th-century architecture, a promenade and pedestrianized shopping areas.
...Corfu, an island off Greece’s northwest coast in the Ionian Sea, is defined by rugged mountains and a resort-studded shoreline. Its cultural heritage reflects years spent under Venetian, French and British rule before it was united with Greece in 1864. Corfu Town, flanked by 2 imposing Venetian fortresses, features winding medieval lanes, a French-style arcade and the grand Palace of St. Michael and St. George.
...Katakolon is the gateway to Ancient Olympia, where the Olympic Games began. Walk the original stadium and see the ruins of the Temple of Zeus, or stay by the harbour for lunch.
...Back in Piraeus at the halfway mark as the second seven-night sailing begins. Athens sits 8 kilometres away.
...Rhodes Old Town is a walled medieval city holding the Street of the Knights and the Palace of the Grand Master. Lindos, with its hilltop acropolis, sits further down the coast.
...Rhodes is the principal city and a former municipality on the island of Rhodes in the Dodecanese, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Rhodes, of which it is the seat and a municipal unit. It has a population of approximately 50,000 inhabitants.
...A small harbour town built around Lake Voulismeni, with cafes along the water. Shore excursions reach the island fortress of Spinalonga and the ruins of Knossos.
...Santorini is one of the Cyclades islands in the Aegean Sea. It was devastated by a volcanic eruption in the 16th century BC, forever shaping its rugged landscape. The whitewashed, cubiform houses of its 2 principal towns, Fira and Oia, cling to cliffs above an underwater caldera (crater). They overlook the sea, small islands to the west and beaches made up of black, red and white lava pebbles.
...Mykonos is an island in the Cyclades group in the Aegean Sea. It’s popularly known for its summer party atmosphere. Beaches such as Paradise and Super Paradise have bars that blare thumping music. Massive dance clubs attract world-renowned DJs and typically stay open well past dawn. Iconic landmarks include a row of 16th-century windmills, which sit on a hill above Mykonos town.

...Milos or Melos is a volcanic Greek island in the Aegean Sea, just north of the Sea of Crete. Milos is the southwesternmost island in the Cyclades group. The Venus de Milo and the Asclepius of Milos were both found on the island, as were a Poseidon and an archaic Apollo now in Athens.
