YOUR ITINERARY

Day 1
19th Nov 2026
Buenos Aires

Home to a proud and diverse community of porteños, or ‘people of the port’, Buenos Aires is a sensuous fusion of faded European splendour and Latin American panache. An overnight stay here is the ideal way to start your adventure.

There are plenty of places to explore, including many parrillas serving authentic Argentine steak. Or maybe you’d like to practise your dance moves in the famous hometown of the tango.

Why not consider arriving a few days early to see all this vibrant city has to offer.

...
Day 2
20th Nov 2026
Buenos Aires to Ushuaia

Your adventure begins with an early morning flight to Ushuaia, where you’ll meet our hybrid-powered expedition ship, specially designed for sustainable cruising in polar waters.

This bustling port is the capital of Argentina’s Tierra del Fuego Province. Set against the magnificent backdrop of the Martial Glacier, Ushuaia vies for the title of the world’s southernmost city.

After a briefing from your Expedition Team, you’ll have time to locate your cabin and explore the comforts and amenities on board.

...
Day 3
21st Nov 2026
Cross the Drake Passage

The Drake Passage crossing begins your transformation from traveller to polar explorer. Your Expedition Team – biologists, historians and glaciologists – lead you through essential briefings on safe landing procedures, wildlife etiquette and the Citizen Science projects you can join. Visit the onboard Science Centre to learn about the ecosystems waiting beneath the ice, and attend your first lectures on Antarctic history and the impact of climate change. Between sessions, scan the horizon from the observation deck – albatrosses and petrels are regular companions on this crossing.

...
Day 4
22nd Nov 2026
Cross the Drake Passage

Your second day crossing the Drake Passage is a chance to settle into the rhythm of expedition life. Join the Expedition Team for photography workshops and wildlife identification sessions to prepare for the days ahead. When you’re not learning, there’s plenty of time to explore the ship. Unwind in the spa and wellness area, warm up in the sauna, or meet fellow travellers over a drink in the Explorer Lounge & Bar. The onboard chefs serve regionally inspired dishes drawing on Norwegian and Nordic culinary traditions.

...
Day 5
23rd Nov 2026
Antarctica

Nothing prepares you for your first sight of Antarctica’s immense, frozen beauty. Surrounded by looming glaciers, and icebergs the size of floating cathedrals, Antarctica will fill you with wonder. Perhaps the most surprising part of Antarctica is the silence. It’s a stillness that’s broken every so often by the locals – the wildlife.

Whales begin to arrive in greater numbers by December and January. This is also when the first penguin chicks hatch and seeing the clumsy clumps of feathers run around is always a charming sight. February and March offer peak whale-watching opportunities, when large amounts of krill lure them to the area.

Here, nature is king, and we are mere observers. Our experienced Captain will continually monitor conditions to create the best possible itinerary for your adventure. Rest assured, each day will offer something different and thrilling.

You’ll join the Expedition Team on landings and ice-cruises, and may even get a chance to go kayaking among the icebergs.

Back on board, the Expedition Team will continue their lectures, helping you grow in your insights of the frozen continent. Over five magical days, you’ll experience this amazing world in a way that will stay with you for a lifetime.

...
Day 6
24th Nov 2026
Antarctica

Each day in Antarctica is shaped by the conditions, and that’s part of the magic. Today your Expedition Team will scout the best landing sites along the Peninsula, taking you ashore by small expedition boat to walk among penguin colonies and witness the sheer scale of the glacial landscape up close. Back on the water, ice-cruising brings you alongside towering icebergs sculpted by wind and waves into extraordinary formations. Keep your camera ready for seal haul-outs and, if the season is right, humpback whales feeding in the krill-rich shallows.

...
Day 7
25th Nov 2026
Antarctica

Your Expedition Team continues to read the ice and weather to find the day’s best opportunities. You might land on a rocky shoreline surrounded by nesting Gentoo or Chinstrap penguins, or cruise through a narrow strait where glacial walls rise straight from the waterline. The onboard Science Centre runs daily lectures between landings, covering topics from glaciology and marine biology to the heroic age of Antarctic exploration. Optional activities like kayaking among the icebergs and snowshoeing are available on select days.

...
Day 8
26th Nov 2026
Antarctica

By now you’ll have found your own rhythm with the expedition. Perhaps today brings a zodiac cruise through a flooded volcanic caldera, or a landing at a former research station where you can learn about the scientists who’ve called this continent home. The wildlife continues to surprise. Watch for leopard seals patrolling the ice edge, curious Weddell seals basking on floes, and flocks of skuas and petrels wheeling overhead. As the Antarctic sun dips low, the light transforms the icescape into shades of pink, gold and electric blue.

...
Day 9
27th Nov 2026
Antarctica

Make the most of your last full day in Antarctica. The Expedition Team will plan landings and activities to round out your experience of the Peninsula, whether that’s a final hike to a vantage point above a vast penguin colony, one last zodiac cruise among cathedral-sized icebergs, or simply standing on deck in the stillness, taking it all in. Tonight the ship turns north toward the Drake Passage. Gather with your fellow travellers in the Explorer Lounge to share the highlights of five extraordinary days at the bottom of the world.

...
Day 10
28th Nov 2026
Cross the Drake Passage

After five incredible days, you’ll have experienced so much in Antarctica. Your head will likely be filled with a swirling kaleidoscope of special memories and impressions. The next couple of days will be a chance to reflect on your adventure to the seventh continent.

...
Day 11
29th Nov 2026
Cross the Drake Passage

As your mind tries to conjure up the magical Antarctic scenery, now could be a good time to sift through your photos and videos to recapture a sense of its magnitude. Why not take the chance to unwind in the sauna, or enjoy a few relaxing spa treatments in the wellness area.

...
Day 12
30th Nov 2026
Ushuaia to Buenos Aires

Your expedition cruise ends in Ushuaia, the main city in Tierra del Fuego, Argentina’s southernmost province. From here, you’ll take a flight back to Buenos Aires, but it doesn’t have to be the end of your adventure.

Why not join an optional post-cruise extension before heading home.

YOUR SHIP - The MS Fridtjof Nansen

The newest addition to our fleet will honor the heritage of her namesake – the Norwegian explorer, scientist, humanitarian and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Fridtjof Nansen. Known for his innovations in Arctic expeditions, Nansen led the first crossing of Greenland on cross-country skis. He is perhaps most famous for his attempt to reach the geographical North Pole during the Fram Expedition (1893-1896). Interestingly, after Nansen’s Fram expedition, the ship was passed on to another great explorer who secretly planned an expedition to the South Pole – Roald Amundsen. Each expedition voyage is accompanied by a hand-picked team of specialists and modern-day explorers. Highly experienced, passionate and knowledgeable, the Expedition Team will be your guides and guardians on your voyage of exploration, instructing you on safety, sustainability and science. MS Fridtjof Nansen will feature a variety of custom built expedition equipment, including kayaks, a fleet of Blueye underwater drones and Expedition Boats for safe landings in remote areas. The stunning scenery will be reflected in a rich and comfortable interior design. Scandinavian materials from nature, such as granite, oak, birch and wool will be used to create relaxed and stylish cabins and public areas. All cabins are outside, 50 % will have private balconies, aft suites will feature private outdoor hot tubs with spectacular views. MS Fridtjof Nansen’s three restaurants will host a variety of dining options, with menus drawn from our rich Norwegian and Nordic tradition, as well as international cuisine and local inspiration.
