There are very few places left on earth that feel genuinely untouched. The Kimberley coast is one of them, and Le Soléal is one of the few ships in the world small enough and purpose-built enough to explore it properly.

Over 10 nights from Broome to Darwin, Ponant’s naturalist and cultural specialists lead Zodiac expeditions into a landscape of extreme tides, ancient rock art, saltwater crocodiles and sandstone gorges that have changed very little in 350 million years. Montgomery Reef rises from the sea as the tide retreats. The Horizontal Falls roar through the McLarty Range at close range. Thirty-thousand-year-old Gwion Gwion figures wait on the walls of Jar Island. And the King George Twin Falls drop 80 metres into a canyon at the end of a Zodiac journey that most passengers describe as the single finest experience of their travelling lives.

All Zodiac excursions, shore landings, destination lectures, all meals, open bar and Wi-Fi are included, along with a 30% Ponant Bonus saving already in the price. The June 2028 departure is one of several sailings available across the Kimberley season. Ask your Cruiseabout specialist about other departure dates, that may suit your travel needs.

YOUR SHIP - The Le Soleal

A sleek silhouette, a welcoming intimate atmosphere, discover aboard this new ship the philosophy that has made L’Austral and LE BORéAL such a success: the spirit of Yacht Cruises. Sailing under the French flag, this magnificent yacht of only 132 staterooms and Suites, with balconies, joined our fleet in July 2013. You will be enchanted by the contemporary decor inspired by the luxury yachting world, with fluid lines and a modern colour scheme combining natural wood with shades of grey and white. A refined ambiance is enhanced by the quality of the workmanship and materials: white Corian counters in the lobby contrast with the warmth of leather to recall a boat’s hull, while the central sculpture of enamelled pieces takes its inspiration from the sea. In the loungebar, the carpet picks up a tennis stripe theme symbolising a certain idea of cruising, one synonymous with French elegance and a chic seaside spirit.
