Savings of $1000 per stateroom
Embark on a breathtaking 8-night voyage into the raw, untamed grandeur of Alaska, departing from the vibrant Pacific Northwest city of Seattle. Sail north into the legendary Inside Passage, arriving first in the charming frontier capital of Juneau – Alaska’s only state capital unreachable by road – where glaciers tumble toward the city’s doorstep and bald eagles soar overhead against a backdrop of snow-capped peaks. Continue to the pristine and largely undeveloped shores of Icy Strait Point at Hoonah, where humpback whales breach in the surrounding waters and brown bears roam the ancient Tlingit homeland freely. The voyage then navigates the spectacular glacier-carved fjord of Tracy Arm – where sheer walls of ancient rock and rivers of blue ice meet thundering waterfalls and drifting icebergs in one of the most arresting natural spectacles on earth – before docking in the colourful, totem-lined streets of Ketchikan, Alaska’s southernmost and most characterful frontier town. A final stop in the elegant Victorian city of Victoria, British Columbia adds an unexpected touch of old-world charm before your wilderness adventure reaches its conclusion back in Seattle.

YOUR ITINERARY
Your voyage begins with a night at leisure in Seattle before you board tomorrow. The Pike Place Market is one of America’s great food markets and worth a proper wander. The waterfront is walkable and the views across Puget Sound towards the Olympic Mountains set the scene for the wilderness journey ahead.
...Today you embark upon your cruise from Seattle
...Juneau is Alaska’s capital and one of only three US state capitals unreachable by road. The Mount Roberts Tramway delivers panoramic views over the city and the Gastineau Channel, and the Mendenhall Glacier is a short drive from the dock. The surrounding wilderness presses close on all sides – bald eagles are a constant overhead presence and the forested mountains rise sharply from the waterfront.
...Icy Strait Point is one of Alaska’s least developed and most rewarding port calls. The old Hoonah Cannery on the waterfront has been sensitively restored and gives genuine insight into the region’s fishing heritage. Beyond the port, the surrounding wilderness is extraordinary – humpback whales feed in the strait, brown bears forage along the shoreline, and bald eagles are so common they stop drawing your attention after the first hour.
...The day begins in Tracy Arm, a glacier-carved fjord where sheer rock walls rise hundreds of metres from the water and icebergs calved from the Sawyer Glaciers drift past the ship. It is one of the most dramatic pieces of scenery in Alaska and best experienced from the open deck. The ship then continues to Ketchikan, Alaska’s southernmost city, which announces itself with totem poles, rainforest and the smell of the sea. The historic Creek Street boardwalk – built on stilts above a salmon creek – is the most characterful part of town.
...Victoria provides a gentle landing after the raw wilderness of Alaska. The British Columbia capital sits at the southern tip of Vancouver Island and wears its colonial heritage lightly – the inner harbour, the ivy-covered Fairmont Empress and the manicured Butchart Gardens all feel genuinely charming rather than contrived. It’s a walkable, unhurried city and a fine final port before the ship returns to Seattle.
...Your voyage concludes in Seattle this morning. The Space Needle, the Museum of Pop Culture and the neighbourhoods of Capitol Hill and Fremont are all worth an hour or two if your flight home allows.
