Included savings of $1400 per stateroom
Embark on a breathtaking 9-night voyage into one of the world’s last great wildernesses, departing from the vibrant Pacific Northwest city of Seattle. Sail north into the spectacular Inside Passage to discover Ketchikan — Alaska’s first city and the self-proclaimed “Salmon Capital of the World” — where totem poles, rainforests and rushing creeks create a vivid introduction to the raw beauty of the Alaskan frontier. Continue to the remarkable Icy Strait Point at Hoonah, a pristine and largely undeveloped corner of Alaska where humpback whales, brown bears and bald eagles roam freely against a backdrop of ancient Tlingit culture. The voyage then navigates the dramatic, glacier-carved fjord of Tracy Arm — where towering walls of ice-blue glacier meet thundering waterfalls and floating icebergs in one of the most awe-inspiring natural spectacles on earth — before docking in the charming frontier capital of Juneau, Alaska’s only state capital inaccessible by road. A final stop in the charming Victorian city of Victoria, British Columbia adds a touch of unexpected British elegance before your magnificent wilderness adventure reaches its conclusion back in Seattle. Wild, raw and utterly unforgettable — this is Alaska at its most spectacular.

YOUR ITINERARY
Your voyage begins with a night at leisure in Seattle before you board tomorrow. The Pike Place Market is one of America’s great food markets and worth a proper wander. The waterfront is walkable and the views across Puget Sound towards the Olympic Mountains set the scene for the wilderness journey ahead.
...Today you embark upon your Arctic Adventure
...Alaska’s southernmost city announces itself with totem poles, rainforest and the smell of the sea. Ketchikan sits on a steep hillside above a creek so thick with salmon in season you can almost walk across them. The historic Creek Street boardwalk – built on stilts above the water – is the most characterful part of town, and the Totem Heritage Center houses one of the finest collections of original totem poles anywhere in the world.
...Icy Strait Point is one of Alaska’s least developed and most rewarding port calls. The old Hoonah Cannery on the waterfront has been sensitively restored and gives genuine insight into the region’s fishing heritage. Beyond the port, the surrounding wilderness is extraordinary – humpback whales feed in the strait, brown bears forage along the shoreline, and bald eagles are so common they stop drawing your attention after the first hour.
...The day begins in Tracy Arm, a glacier-carved fjord where sheer rock walls rise hundreds of metres from the water and icebergs calved from the Sawyer Glaciers drift past the ship. It is one of the most dramatic pieces of scenery in Alaska and best experienced from the open deck. The ship then continues to Juneau, Alaska’s capital and one of only three US state capitals unreachable by road. The Mount Roberts Tramway delivers panoramic views over the city and the Gastineau Channel, and the Mendenhall Glacier is a short drive from the dock.
...Victoria provides a gentle landing after the raw wilderness of Alaska. The British Columbia capital sits at the southern tip of Vancouver Island and wears its colonial heritage lightly – the inner harbour, the ivy-covered Fairmont Empress and the manicured Butchart Gardens all feel genuinely charming rather than contrived. It’s a walkable, unhurried city and a fine final port before the ship returns to Seattle.
...Your voyage ends with a final night in Seattle. If yesterday’s Victoria left you wanting more time ashore, Seattle more than delivers – the Space Needle, the Museum of Pop Culture and the neighbourhoods of Capitol Hill and Fremont all reward an afternoon’s exploration.
...Your holiday draws to a close today.
