The region is also home to the Norwegian Petroleum Museum.

The Viking Ship Museum (Vikingskipshuset) houses remarkably preserved 9th-century vessels, while the Fram Museum tells the story of polar exploration. The Vigeland Sculpture Park showcases over 200 works by Gustav Vigeland in a beautiful garden setting.

Denmark’s fourth largest city, Aalborg sits at the narrowest point of the Limfjord. Stroll the lively Jomfru Ane Gade street, visit the restored Utzon Centre designed by Sydney Opera House architect Jorn Utzon, and explore the Viking burial site of Lindholm Hoje. The city blends industrial heritage with a thriving contemporary arts scene.

Denmark’s fairy-tale capital delivers iconic experiences at every turn. Stroll along the colourful Nyhavn canal lined with 17th-century merchant buildings, visit the Little Mermaid statue, and explore the magnificent Rosenborg Castle and its crown jewels. The Tivoli Gardens amusement park, one of the world’s oldest, is a short walk from the city centre.

Arriving via the coastal resort of Warnemunde, this is your gateway to Berlin. A short train journey delivers you to one of Europe’s most fascinating capitals. Visit the Brandenburg Gate, walk along remnants of the Berlin Wall at the East Side Gallery, explore Museum Island, and discover the remarkable story of a city transformed. Warnemunde itself is a charming seaside town worth exploring.

The ‘Sunshine Island’ of Bornholm is a Baltic gem famous for its dramatic coastal scenery, round churches, and artisan smoked herring. Rent a bicycle to explore the rocky northern coast and whitewashed fishing villages of Gudhjem and Svaneke. The island’s unique half-timbered Hammershus castle ruins, perched on a granite cliff, are a highlight.

A city reborn, Gdansk’s meticulously reconstructed old town is a masterpiece of Dutch Renaissance architecture. Walk the Royal Way along Dluga Street, visit St Mary’s Church (one of the world’s largest brick churches), and explore the poignant European Solidarity Centre, birthplace of the movement that helped end communist rule in Europe. The amber jewellery market is not to be missed.

Climb the hill to Toompea Castle for sweeping views, explore the Great Guild Hall, and discover hidden courtyards and medieval pharmacies. The vibrant Telliskivi creative quarter offers a dynamic contrast to the historic centre.

Arrive in Stockholm, the city built on 14 islands where Lake Malaren meets the Baltic Sea. Explore the narrow cobblestone streets of Gamla Stan (Old Town), visit the magnificent Vasa Museum housing a perfectly preserved 17th-century warship, and stroll the leafy Djurgarden island.
