Milford Sound is the most famous, but the quieter Doubtful and Dusky Sounds are equally stunning. Watch for dolphins, fur seals, and penguins in the waters below.

New Zealand’s Scottish heritage city offers wildlife, history, and a surprisingly vibrant food and craft beer scene. The Otago Peninsula is unmissable — home to royal albatross, yellow-eyed penguins, and fur seal colonies. In the city itself, the grand Victorian railway station, the university campus, and the local chocolate factory are all worth your time.

A city reborn after the 2011 earthquake, Christchurch blends creative resilience with classic garden-city beauty. Visit the Riverside Market for artisan food, explore the Botanic Gardens, or take a day trip to the French-settled harbour town of Akaroa on Banks Peninsula — known for its wildlife cruises, dolphins, and charming waterfront.

A sea day as you transit from the South Island to the North. A good opportunity to enjoy the ship’s specialty dining — Fine Cut Steakhouse and Raw on 5 are both excellent options on Celebrity Edge.

Gateway to the Bay of Plenty, Tauranga sits at the base of the iconic Mount Maunganui — a short walk from port that rewards with panoramic views and a golden beach at the base. Head inland to Rotorua for geothermal parks, Maori cultural experiences, and scenery that feels almost otherworldly. The local kiwifruit and avocado country is also worth exploring.

New Zealand’s largest city has a stunning harbour setting, a diverse food scene, and volcanic peaks you can hike right in the city centre. Walk the Viaduct Harbour waterfront, take the ferry to Devonport, or browse the galleries and cafes along Ponsonby Road. If time allows, the Auckland Art Gallery and Auckland Museum are both excellent.

A subtropical paradise of 144 islands, white-sand beaches, and crystal-clear water. Swim with dolphins, kayak sheltered coves, or visit the Waitangi Treaty Grounds where New Zealand’s founding document was signed. The small historic village of Russell is a short ferry ride from the tender pier and perfect for a waterfront lunch. This is a tender port.

The first of two homebound sea days. Reflect on the New Zealand highlights, enjoy the ship’s entertainment, and make the most of any remaining inclusions — your beverage package and Wi-Fi run right until the end of the voyage.

Your final day at sea. Enjoy a leisurely morning, collect any photos from the onboard gallery, and take in the last ocean views from the Rooftop Garden or your balcony before arriving into Sydney tomorrow.
