Your first sea day heading north into the tropics. A second day at sea as the ocean turns turquoise and the temperature climbs. Book your North Star ride if you haven’t already — the 360-degree views from 90 metres above sea level are spectacular. The Solarium is the go-to adults-only retreat, and Jamie’s Italian or Izumi are excellent for a leisurely lunch.

Vanuatu’s vibrant capital blends Melanesian warmth with a touch of French colonial charm — think street-side markets, waterfront bistros, and some of the South Pacific’s most accessible adventures. Hike through the rainforest to the Mele Cascades waterfalls, browse the handicrafts and fresh produce at Mama’s Market, or take the short boat ride to Pele Island for pristine snorkelling in crystal-clear lagoons. The local coffee and chocolate are both grown on the islands and surprisingly good.

A tiny, uninhabited island with no roads, no buildings, and no electricity — just white sand, warm turquoise water, and palm trees swaying in the breeze. Mystery Island is only accessible by cruise ship and the nearby villagers of Aneityum, making it one of the most unspoiled spots you’ll visit anywhere. Walk the entire island in 30 minutes, snorkel over the coral reef just offshore, or simply claim a patch of sand and switch off completely. Local villagers paddle across to sell handmade crafts and fresh coconuts — it’s the South Pacific at its most authentic.

New Caledonia’s capital feels like the French Riviera transplanted to the Pacific — boulangeries, sidewalk cafes, and a distinctly European lifestyle set against a backdrop of turquoise lagoons and tropical palms. Swim at the beautiful Anse Vata Bay or Baie des Citrons, visit the striking Jean-Marie Tjibaou Cultural Centre to learn about indigenous Kanak culture, or catch the ferry to Amedee Island for snorkelling with sea turtles around the lighthouse reef. A beachside lunch with a glass of local rosé is the perfect way to spend the afternoon.

Heading south back toward Brisbane. A good day to revisit your favourite onboard spots, use any remaining onboard credit, or catch one of the spectacular shows at Two70 you might have missed earlier. The Windjammer buffet and Wonderland specialty restaurant are both great dinner options tonight.

Your final day at sea. Enjoy a relaxed morning by the pool or in the Solarium, pick up any photos or souvenirs from the onboard shops, and soak in the last ocean views from the top deck. Tonight is your last evening onboard — make it count with a cocktail at the Bionic Bar and a farewell dinner.

Arrive back in Brisbane to complete your 8-night South Pacific island escape. The cruise terminal is well connected to the city and airport, making it easy to head home or extend your stay with a few days on the Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast.
