Welcome to Hambantota! As of the top biodiversity hotspots in the world, visiting this Sri Lankan destination is like stepping into a real-life Jungle Book. Admire the dazzling exotic blooms of Mirijawila Botanic Gardens or join a safari through Yala National Park, home to the world’s largest concentration of leopards and elephants.
Colombo is the beating commercial heart of Sri Lanka ...
Colombo is the beating commercial heart of Sri Lanka located on the coast of the Indian Ocean. Whether you’re exploring the nearby town of Galle, which features colonial Portuguese architecture and a green space for sports and community fun, or you venture beyond the city to see an elephant orphanage, your Sri Lanka cruise experience is bound to be unlike anywhere else you’ve ever visited on an India cruise. It’s also home to important temples like the beautiful and historic Gangaramaya Temple, which is one of Colombo’s oldest Buddhist temples.
With a population of nearly one million people, Colombo isn’t showing any signs of slowing down soon. The city continues to improve upon its attractions and offer new sights, smells, and immersive experiences to every type of traveler. Colombo takes travelers out of their comfort zones. Try adventurous street foods like the Sri Lankan hopper, local wood apples, and all sorts of roti during your (too-short) time in Colombo.
While we don’t currently sail to Colombo, you can still discover the beauty of the region on one of our cruises to Asia. Browse our luxury cruises to Asia below.

Whether you refer to it as Kochi or Cochin, this port city offers a picturesque, seaside stop on an India cruise unlike any other. With influences from British, Dutch, and Portuguese settlement over the past 500 or so years, Kochi feels especially global, whether you’re stopping for coffee at the local Kashi Art Cafe or touring Fort Kochi on your own.
See the famous Chinese fishing nets, one of the most photographable spots in Kochi, and peruse the catches of the day with the local fishermen. Or, take an excursion beyond Kochi to Alappuzha during your Cochin cruise, indulging in thali and kebabs after a day’s boat ride on the Arabian Sea. Luckily, Kochi itself is pretty walkable, and most sights are close to one another. Less bustling than Mumbai, Cochin retains a small town charm ideal for unhurried exploration.

A Goa cruise booking will open your eyes to this magnetic and unique state, which is teeming with sunshine and spices. During your India cruise and trips to the surrounding areas, Goa is sure to surprise you. It’s a hub for international tourism and completely different from India’s biggest cities like Mumbai and Bangalore.
On a Goa cruise, booking adventurous excursions are a must to fully explore everything Goa has to offer, whether that’s a full day of visiting historic forts and museums or enjoying a traditional Goan tea ceremony. You can’t go wrong during your trip here when you head to Goa’s golden sand beaches, like Mandrem and Anjuna, and soak up every possible minute of sun. Goa also hosts a number of UNESCO World Heritage sites and ancient ruins that will delight art and history lovers, like the Basilica of Bom Jesus or Sé Cathedral, where the Portuguese influence of Goa’s architecture and style shines bright.

India’s largest city, known as Bombay until very recently, possesses an energy and gusto that few cities can imitate. On your India cruise, a stop in Mumbai quickly shows visitors both thousands of years of history and a modern, bustling hub for film and industry. Don’t miss a stroll or a car ride along the Queen’s Necklace, or Mumbai’s Marine Drive, where you’ll be engulfed by the Arabian Sea and the Mumbai skyline.
Thousands of years of history is preserved at sites like the Elephanta Caves and the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya, formerly known as the Prince of Wales Museum. During your time in Mumbai, shop along the chaotic Colaba Causeway. Sip a gin cocktail in one of the city’s many speakeasy lounges. Tour the ornate Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, where celebrities gather and tragedies strike. Spend the day on a Bollywood set, marveling at India’s biggest stars, or among lush plant life at the Hanging Gardens, a rest from the lights and noise. After all, Mumbai is a city full of contradictions like that.

This morning proceeds for an excursion to Elephanta Caves, which is just an hour away from Mumbai. The cave temples here were excavated between the 5th and 8th centuries, famous for the magnificently sculpted panels.
Later in the afternoon enjoy a city tour of Mumbai, visiting the Gateway of India, Mumbai’s principal landmark. Visit the “Dhobi Ghat” an open laundry, famous for lines of dyed garments, a nice photography stops which is well worth a visit.

Spend today exploring the ‘Pink City’ and its historical significance in the region. Start at magnificent Amber Fort, strategically positioned on a hilltop, home to vast halls and the famous entirely mirrored room ‘Sheesh mahal’.
In the afternoon visit the sprawling City Palace, a superb marriage of Rajput and Mughal architecture. The seven storied Chandra Mahal (Moon Palace) is a sprawling complex with multiple courtyards, public buildings, astronomical observatory and zenana mahals (harems). From the City Palace you enter the extraordinary “Jantar Mantar”, an astronomical observatory built in 1827. Instruments resembling massive futuristic structures are actually highly sophisticated instruments which are accurate even today.
Finally, drive though the busy streets for a photography stop at Hawa Mahal, the ornate pink façade an icon of the city. The five storied high ‘screen’ composed of projected windows and balconies protected by fine latticed screens, was designed to enable the ladies of the harem to observe the lively street scenes of the city from a position of privacy.

This morning departs Jaipur and stop at Fatehpur Sikri as you make your way to Agra. Fatehpur Sikri was built by the Mughals in the 15th century and abandoned within 20 years due to a lack of the water, the ornate buildings and palaces are remarkably well preserved, they offer a somewhat eerie insight into the grandeur of the Mughal Empire at its peak.
On arrival in Agra visit mighty Agra Fort. Richly decorated with marble and mosaic, it was in part of this fort-palace that Shah Jahan, who built the Taj Mahal in homage to his wife, spent the last years of his life, imprisoned by his son. The quarters where he was confined have a magical view of the Taj Mahal across the river Yamuna. Enjoy free time to wander the intriguing streets and lane ways of Agra’s old city.

Start the day with a sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal. The stunning mausoleum immortalized the name of Shah Jahan’s last wife Mumtaz Mahal, “light of the palace”. Built by artisans from neighbouring Islamic countries as well as India, it is aptly described by the poet laureate Tagore as “A tear on the face of eternity”. Decorated with a mosaic of semi-precious stones and Persian calligraphy recreating verses from the Koran, the mausoleum is an important place of pilgrimage as the empress died in childbirth, making her a martyr. At dawn the marble structures glow and gently change colour as the sky brightens.
Your tour continues to Delhi where you will join your experienced local guide on an exciting half day tour. Experience the narrow winding lanes best traversed by cycle-rickshaw; they house some of the oldest trading establishments and inhabitants of the Old City, driving past historic Jama Masjid and the Red Fort.
Later, drive past the Rashtrapati Bhavan (Presidential Palace) and the secretariat buildings, the impressive Rajpath and World War I memorial arch; the India Gate. Later visit Delhi’s most beautiful monument; the Humayun’s Tomb. On the way back to the hotel, notice the contrasting architectural styles, introduced by colonial rulers, mirroring styles from across Europe and adapted to India.
After tour, check-in to your hotel.
