Staying Fit on your Cruise
The draws of cruising are undeniable – cruises are great value for money with accommodation and food included, they offer unrivalled ease of travel, and there are enough onboard and onshore activities to keep everyone entertained. But – the health conscious traveller also knows that the all-you-can-eat buffets, the bottomless drinks and lounging by the pool all day can pack on the kilo’s. However – this doesn’t have to be the case!
Here are some tips of things you can do on your cruise so that you can still enjoy everything on offer…
Healthy Cruising Tips:
- Book a room as far away from the dining room as possible – that way, you will walk more each day just trying to get to your meals
- Make it a rule – don’t ever take the elevator. The stairs are fitness tools to be used – and for free!
- Locate the spa and the gym as soon as possible, and talk to the staff in the fitness centre. Try to book in a special class right away, as these can fill up quickly.
- Choose onshore activities that will keep you active, such as hiking, biking, swimming or kayaking.
