Silversea to Launch New Expedition Cruise Ship
Luxury cruise line, Silversea, is adding a third ship to its Expedition fleet with the long-term charter of the 128-passenger Clipper Odyssey, which will be renamed Silver Discoverer.
Following a multi-million-dollar makeover, Silver Discoverer will start sailing in March 2014. She is expertly engineered to explore the most isolated archipelagos for the Pacific, and for the first 3 years the expedition vessel will be based in the Pacific in the summer and South East Asia in the winter, visiting remote islands in the Far East and the New Zealand Sun-Antarctic, and cruising in the Western Australia Kimberley region. In 2015, it will also add South Pacific itineraries to its list.
Silver Discoverer will sail with an 11-strong expedition team, including 2 dive masters for guided expeditions, as well as snorkelling equipment, wetsuits, a glass-bottomed boat and 12 inflatable Zodiacs, which will allow exploration from the water or remote landings anywhere nature or curiosity dictate.
The vessel has 64 outside suites, ranging from rooms with portholes to cabins with balconies and sweeping views. During its makeover, Silversea will add a gym, pool grill and a small spa. The lounge and dining areas will be brought up to six-star standards and the bathrooms will be updated. Every creature comfort will be catered for onboard Silver Discoverer - head-to-toe pampering from a butler, imaginative menus offering regional dishes, an open bar, a beauty and massage centre, a sun-catching pool deck and so much more.
Itineraries for Silver Discoverer will be available to be booked through Cruiseabout as soon as they are released by Silversea. To register your interest and receive more information once they become available, call one of our Cruise Specialists today on 1300 954 661.
