Royal Caribbean Cruises Sails Into 10th Season Down Under

Posted October 9th, 2017

Royal Caribbean Cruises kicked off an exciting 10th season yesterday, marked by Royal Caribbean International's superliner Radiance of the Seas sailing into the sparkling blue waters of Sydney Harbour. This will be the first of the company's fleet of ships to return to Australian shores for Royal Caribbean International's their 10th season based on home soil.  Brands across RCL Cruises' portfolio will see various ships headed for Australia, ready to embrace an exciting and jam-packed summer of cruising.

Late last week Adam Armstrong, managing director for RCL Cruises in Australia and New Zealand, said “we’re back – Australia’s beloved Radiance of the Seas pulls into port this weekend, marking the start of an epic 10th birthday season ahead for Royal Caribbean International.”

Royal Caribbean International will have six of their exceptional passenger ships running Australia-based itineraries this summer, offering a range of 97 cruise holidays across them. Ovation of the Seas will be joining Radiance of the Seas, returning for her second (and longest) SuperCruising season to date. Family-favourite ships Explorer of the Seas and Voyager of the Seas or 'The South Pacific Sisters' as they are commonly referred to, will also be joining the fleet here on home soil for the upcoming season.

Celebrity Cruises awarded ship Celebrity Solstice will be making her sixth appearance in Australian waters later this month, sailing into Sydney for the her first sampler cruise in three seasons.   Also very exciting for Celebrity was the announcement of overnight port stays this season in Cairns, Melbourne and Sydney, offering guests more opportunity to immerse themselves in these destinations, enjoy the cities at night and get the most from their cruising experience.

Azamara Club Cruises, Royal Caribbean Cruise's high-end boutique brand will also be making a return. Azamara Journey is due into Australia's west cost in January, which will see the start of their third season down under, their biggest yet.  Planned destinations include Adelaide and Perth, as well as a number of regional ports. To wrap up her 2017/18 season, this ship will make her inaugural World Journey from Sydney to London over 102 nights, 60 ports and 29 countries.  What a way to round up a season!
