Explorer of the Seas Coming to Australia

Posted April 10th, 2014

Last weekend, Royal Caribbean International made the announcement that Explorer of the Seas will be joining their fleet in the Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific region in November 2015. It's incredibly exciting news to have another Voyager-class ships sailing in our waters, so we wanted to give you some more details of what you can expect when she gets here!

Explorer of the Seas is set to cruise from Australia from November 2015

Explorer of the Seas is 3,800-guest megaliner, and is the sister ship to Voyager of the Seas. Both ships will be based in Sydney and will share the prestigious title of 'Australia's biggest megaliner'. She is set to replace Rhapsody of the Seas, which is due to leave the local fleet in April 2015 after 8 successive, and successful, seasons.

While many are sad to see Rhapsody of the Seas leave, we are also excited for the new adventure that Explorer of the Seas will offer Australian cruisers. Radiance of the Seas will also be returning to the region for the 2015-16 Australia & New Zealand cruise season, and will continue to sail on her popular itineraries.

So what can you expect from Explorer of the Seas?

This stunning megaliner will boast a range of WOW features when she arrives in the region, undergoing a month-long, $100 million dry dock revitalisation before she gets here. You will be able to enjoy unforgettable experiences including the FlowRider surf simulator, the first of its kind in Australasian waters; a 3-D Movie theatre; a range of onboard restaurants; all new staterooms and luxurious suites; and virtual balconies that bring live ocean and destination views into interior staterooms.

A FlowRider Surf Simulator will be added to Explorer of the Seas

Explorer of the Seas has 15 decks of excitement, fun, adventure and relaxation. She is home to an array of innovations that give you whatever type of cruise holiday you desire. Get your relaxation vibes on poolside or at the zen-like Vitality Spa. Get your heart pumping on the rock climbing wall that offers a unique vantage point from the top. Liven up your evenings on the Royal Promenade with parades, dancing and shopping. Enjoy spacious public areas, enhanced staterooms and a spectacular 3-storey dining room.

Explorer of the Seas will bring a fresh season of cruising with it when it reaches our waters, so make sure you keep an eye out for more details on when you can book your cruise!
