3 Celebrities Joining Carnival's Melbourne Cup Cruise

Posted April 24th, 2016

Last week Carnival Cruise Line released the details of its 2016 Melbourne Cup Carnival cruise itinerary, which will include events, activities and famous faces.

Carnival Spirit will depart Sydney on 30 October for a jam-packed six-night journey including three days of racing action in Melbourne. But not all the excitement will be based on land.

Thanks to the following three celebrities joining the rest of the punters, Carnival's Melbourne Cup cruise is sure to be a winner at sea as well.

Erica Davis

1. Erica Davis

Well-known Sydney Weekender presenter, Erica Davis, will be hosting an onboard fashion show during the cruise. Since working with Seven Network for 10-plus years, Erica has become a popular face on TV screens around the country.

2. Karen Gee

Fashion designer Karen Gee will also be amongst the fashion action providing plenty of insight and charisma. Since launching her self-titled label in 2013, Karen has made a name dressing women all around the world including TV personalities Samantha Armytage and Lisa Wilkinson.

3. John Tapp

Few voices in the horse racing world are more recognisable than retired race caller John Tapp's. After 33 years calling more than 50,000 races, John will share an abundance of knowledge, tips and advice on horse racing and the big race in question. This will be his second Melbourne Cup Carnival cruise in as many years.

“We’re excited to welcome Erica and Karen to our Melbourne Cup line-up with John. Both women have achieved amazing success in their respective fields and we’re sure they’ll be a huge hit with our guests during our popular fashions at sea presentation,” said Carnival Cruise Line Vice President Australia Jennifer Vandekreeke.

Fares on the six-night roundtrip cruise include general admission to Flemington for the Emirates Melbourne Cup and Crown Oaks Day races.

I love the kind of travelling that is one part strategic planning and two parts spontaneous adventure. Whether I'm exploring my local city or a small town in the middle of nowhere, I'm always hoping to find something no one else has discovered.
