Cruise on board Quark Expeditions's Sea Adventurer
With its spacious facilities, comfortable interior and ice-strengthened hull, the Sea Adventurer is an elegant and seasoned explorer of the polar regions. Built in 1976, the ship has enjoyed a proud career, with a refurbishment in 1999, further alterations in 2002 and a facelift to be unveiled in the 2017 polar season. The Sea Adventurer combines adventure with creature comforts, travelling the Arctic and Antarctic regions, and visiting destinations like Tromso, Bear Island, Greenland, Canada, the Falklands and Georgia.
Aboard, passengers can witness the beauty of these spectacular destinations from the spacious lounge and bar, the window-lined dining room or the traditional promenades. The Sea Adventurer also features a gift shop, polar library, and exercise room. All cabins boast external views, new bathrooms, televisions and DVD players.
When it comes to exploration, the Sea Adventurer has a program of exciting shore excursions based on the discovery of wildlife and nature. Hiking, snow shoeing and kayaking are among the activities, along with the optional extra of ice camping. Meanwhile, a fleet of zodiacs allow passengers to further explore.
The destinations, culture, history and nature are further explained courtesy of educational lectures and presentations in the multi-purpose lounge aboard the ship.
