Savona, Italy
Savona is a seaport and comune in the northern Italian region of Liguria, capital of the Province of Savona, in the Riviera di Ponente on the Mediterranean Sea, at sea-level.
On first impressions Savona is far from attractive, however away from the port you will find much of the medieval centre still remains. The main focus is on the impressive Priamà r fortress which overlooks the sea and is also home to a number of museums, an art gallery.
Savona is also a modern and practical city with a good selection of shops, restaurants and bars. There are also plenty of fine beaches in and around the city.
