Say Hello to the Seabourn Odyssey

Posted December 28th, 2015

Making its maiden voyage in June 2009, Seabourn Cruises’ magnificent Seabourn Odyssey is the epitome of luxury cruising. Boasting 10 decks and accommodating only 450 guests with one of the largest space-to-passenger ratios in the world, Seabourn Odyssey finds herself glistening across the world’s high seas, with itineraries spanning the Caribbean to Oceania.

Whether you’ve booked an extravagant getaway aboard this stunning ocean liner or are simply considering the ship for your next cruise holiday, here is everything you need to know about Seabourn Odyssey.

Onboard Activities

With 2 outdoor swimming pools and a full-service spa, relaxation is the height of the Seabourn Odyssey cruising experience. Step into a day of pampering with 7 indoor and outdoor treatment rooms, a thermal suite, saunas, steam rooms, salon facilities, a bubbling hot tub and a rose-scented relaxation area to keep your mind at ease and your muscles relaxed. Otherwise, stretch out at the fitness centre with a schedule of yoga, Pilates and personal training sessions available.

Evening Entertainment

Make your way to The Grand Salon on deck 6 for a variety of performances including cabaret shows, live concerts, and cinema nights. Plop down on a leather sofa or kick up your heels on the dance floor for an evening of ballroom dancing. If you’re looking for something a little more upbeat, head down to deck 5 and spend the night at The Club. This pumping discothèque is perfect for both drinking and dancing; otherwise, try your hand at the casino if you’re feeling lucky. Prefer to spend your evening outdoors? Head upstairs to the outside decks for a movie night under the stars.

Dining Options

Chef Thomas Keller (The French Laundry, Bouchon and Per Se) is the culinary mastermind behind Seabourn Odyssey’s 5 different restaurants and bistros. Find fine dining at the humbly named 'The Restaurant', degustation dinners at 'Restaurant 2', a casual vibe at 'The Colonnade's' indoor/outdoor buffet, al fresco lunches at the 'Sky Grill' or dinner by the pool at the 'Patio Grill'. On this ship, open seating is standard. To enjoy your privacy (and the view), simply opt for in-room dining on your own personal verandah.

Cabin Review

Wake up to a sunlit room coated in soft, sandy tones and the gentle sounds of the sea - all of Seabourn Odyssey’s 225 suites are positioned at the front of the ship and away from activities, ensuring passengers can enjoy a quiet cabin retreat. Whether you’ve booked the smallest cabin (a generous 25 square metres) or the largest suite (105 square metres), you’ll find Egyptian cotton linens, an in-suite bar, and luxury amenities courtesy of Molten Brown and L’Occitane. The rooms are also fixed with all the mod-cons, including a flat screen TV and Wi-Fi access.

For a truly unforgettable experience, you can even book a Penthouse Spa Suite for direct staircase access to the spa or treat yourself to a Wintergarden Suite, which features a glassed-in solarium, soaking tub and a day bed, plus amazing views from the balcony.
