Queen Mary 2 refit is now complete

Posted December 14th, 2011

Look out! Queen Mary 2 just got better, following the completion of a major refurbishment in Hamburg between 24 November and 6 December.

Guests can now look forward to new carpeting, curtains and bedspreads in all of Queen Mary 2’s 1,310 staterooms and suites; as well as a redesigned Golden Lion Pub which exudes a British pub atmosphere with warm colours and plush seating as well as new plasma TVs.

Other improvements include reconditioned teak surrounding Queen Mary 2’s hydrotherapy pool and adjacent wet areas, as well as a general upgrade of all the Canyon Ranch Spa Club facilities and new exercise machines in the fitness centre.

Meanwhile new carpet has also been laid in Queen Mary 2’s Queens Grill and Princess Grill Restaurants, as well as her Commodore Club which also received additions to the white leather furnishings of chairs, sofas and stools.

New soft furnishings and carpet were also added to Queen Mary 2’s Veuve Clicquot Champagne Bar (see picture) and Sir Samuel’s, whilst younger guests will appreciate upgrades to the vessel’s Play Zone which include new soft play areas, and the very latest in electronic gaming technology and entertainment.

Following the completion of work, Queen Mary 2 sailed back to her homeport of Southampton, UK, where she will wow guests cruising on her upcoming Transatlantic Crossings, Europe and World voyages.
