P&O Australia - a Haven for Food Lovers
With the launch of Pacific Aria and Pacific Eden to the P&O Australia fleet in November 2015, the cruise line will be overhauling their dining at sea experiences, with the cruise line’s largest array of restaurant offerings, and a host of new dining experiences being offered on both ships.
If there is one thing cruises are synonymous with, it would be the legendary cruise buffet. Even if you haven’t been on a cruise before, you know all about the buffet. But, Pacific Aria and Pacific Eden will be turning this cruise-food tradition on its head with the introduction of The Pantry instead of a buffet restaurant. The Pantry will offer cruisers a foodie heaven of delicious outlets serving everything from fine cheeses to Mexican street food. And the best part is – it’s all included in your fare, so you can sample a little bit of everything if you like! Individual tables will also make way for high tables, communal benches and banquettes.
Old Meet New
The main dining venue, The Waterfront Restaurant will offer what guests already know and love, but with a bit of a makeover. You will be able to enjoy cutting-edge Australian cuisine in a plush, modern surrounding. The materials and colours used in the decor have been inspired by natural Australia, and will see a lot of wooden details and soft colours being used throughout. Panoramic windows and mood lighting will also ensure this space is relaxed and welcoming both day and night.
The classic Salt Grill Restaurant will be transformed into the Salt Grill and Bar* on both ships, so you can enjoy the celebrity chef experience by the glass with Luke Mangan.
Plus, old favourite, the Chef’s Table* – an intimate dining experience – will still be offered, but will form part of the Open Kitchen experience, a new concept onboard P&O ships whereby guests can take part in culinary lessons and demonstrations.
Dining experience onboard Pacific Aria and Pacific Eden also include the new Angelo’s Italian Restaurant* and Dragon Lady*. Named after photographer Angelo Frontoni, Angelo’s is the go-to restaurant for the best traditional Italian this side of Rome. And once the sun sets, Dragon Lady opens up to offer you a mouth-watering modern pan-Asian dining experience.
The Cellar Door* is also being added to both ships, where you can take part in daily wine tastings, master classes, vintage seminars, wine flights and more. A perfect combination to a food experience is a good wine experience!
These gourmet food experiences will redefine traditional cruise dining and will make these two ships the perfect choice for food lovers. And let’s be honest – who of us doesn’t love a good meal?
