ms Oosterdam has Arrived in Australia
Last week, Holland America Line's ms Oosterdam joined ms Volendam for her inaugural season in Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific.
Her arrival into Sydney Harbour marked the first time that one of Holland America Line's Vista-class ships has been based in Australia for the entire southern cruising season.
Australians have a lot to look forward to with this new addition to our cruise season, as ms Oosterdam offers a great number of private balcony staterooms, a hydrotherapy pool located in the Greenhouse Spa, exceptional dining, enriching onboard experiences such as culinary demonstrations in the Culinary Arts Centre and Digital Workshops and much more!
"The arrival of Oosterdam means a 25% increase in capacity compared to previous seasons and a wider range of itineraries for our guests to enjoy," said Tony Archbold, Holland America Line's Sydney-based Director of Sales. "It's also the first time we've had two ships sailing in the region simultaneously."
Archbold added: "Aussies know a great value holiday when they see one and now is the ideal time to book a Holland America Line cruise."
The 2012-13 cruise season from Holland America Line offers premium cruising for incredible value, including 10 to 28 day voyages on board ms Oosterdam. A major highlight is the 14 day Solar Eclipse cruise departing on 7 November and sailing up the coast of Australia towards the Great Barrier Reef, and then crossing the Coral Sea to New Caledonia and Nouméa, before returning to Sydney.
When the total solar eclipse occurs on 14 November in the Cairns region, one of the best places in the world to view it will be from the deck of Oosterdam, where passengers will be able to gather on deck for music, dancing and a narration of the event as it unfolds.
