Five Cruise Locations To Go On Your Bucket List

Posted March 11th, 2014

I’ve always despised the concepts of ‘lists’.  Whenever I saw my mum scribbling down a list of chores from the comfort of her kitchen bench or my maths teacher heartlessly writing down homework due the next day, I always thought to myself, ‘has anyone actually written a list of things they want to do instead of HAVE TO DO?’  Of course I was too young to know about the endless possibilities and landscapes that permeated outside the constraints of my own room; but now that I do, I have a bucket list so big that I’m selfless enough to share five cruise destinations that should be at the top of your list!

Mexico

A colourful culture with great food, sandy beaches and the blazing sun to get your tan on, what more do you want?  Princess Cruise lines are experts when it comes to vacationing around this exotic country, offering round-trip cruises from Los Angeles or San Francisco.  One of the places you’ll get to go to is El Arco, the most renowned landmark in Cabo San Lucas as well as Banderas Bay, the staple location to snorkel or kayak in Mexico.

South Africa

Known as one of the hottest tourist destinations, the Rainbow Nation offers distinctive landscapes, countless wildlife and upbeat citizens. I don’t know a better place to cruise around than South Africa.  Cunard is offering a great 17 day luxury cruise from Fremantle to Cape Town.  A few things planned once you reach the beautiful city are the cable car to Table Mountain, capturing fabulous views of the beaches, jagged mountains and vineyards.  Train excursions to Robben Island are also a highlight alongside the rich architectural culture that surrounds the city of Port Elizabeth.

Mediterranean

Myriad attractions and cuisines await your impatient eyes and salivating mouth once you experience a Mediterranean cruise.  With MSC Cruises, they are sure to take care of your Mediterranean cruise with ease as you travel east to west and gaze upon the ancient ruins of Tunisia and the blue waters of Greece.  The people, the weather and the food always brings travellers back, making it an unforgettable cruise no matter the age!

Alaska

Although this may not be one of the obvious choices, Alaska offers one of the most striking scenic views of the world.  Enjoy navigating your way through ice glaciers, wildlife, long fjords and understated ports.  Explore Anchorage, Alaska’s prime city, native villages and the wildlife living at the Kenai Fjords National Park.  If you weren’t spoiled enough, whales, dolphins and other marine life swim alongside your travels!

Hawaii

Last but not least is my all-time favourite, Hawaii.  An island voyage invites you to experience the true Hawaiian spirit in a remarkable way.  It’s time to lather on some sun-screen with a Piña Colada in one hand, (maybe in both), and enjoy the ride with great company.  Get a chance to party on the greatest island of the world- Maui, as you lay on spectacular beaches, gushing waterfalls, forested jungles and volcanic structures.   There’s four natural attractions going on and you’re invited to explore all!

Beautiful Hawaii, just waiting to be explored!
