Star Cruises Launches New Premium Cruise Brand

Posted December 14th, 2015

Luxury-inclined travellers will have a new cruising brand to fall in love with in 2016. Genting Hong Kong is claiming its stake in Asia's premium cruise market by bringing Dream Cruises to the ocean.

Dream Cruises will offer the most spacious ships in Asia Pacific, along with the high level of service expected for opulent cruising. Its two ships, Genting Dream and World Dream, will be introduced in November 2016 and November 2017, respectively.

Genting Dream, will have enough space for 3,400 guests while maintaining the highest guest-to-staff ratio of any Asia Pacific ship (1.7).

The ship will boast two floors of 'Dream Suites' as large as 183 square metres, which will also feature butler service and special privileges such as a private deck and living room.

The rest of the accommodation will include 70 percent of staterooms with private balconies and 100-plus connecting rooms for travelling families and groups.

Onboard activities will be plentiful with pools, six water slides, play rooms, a bowling alley and duty-free shopping to name a few. Organised events will also be available, ranging from wine tasting to guest speakers.

Genting Dream will commence sailing in November next year when it will have homeports in Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Sanya. Planned itineraries will also include stops at Shenzen, Halong Bay and Danang.

With Dream Cruises, Genting has achieved its goal of covering the three major cruise markets: Crystal Cruises for luxury, Star Cruises for contemporary and Dream Cruises for premium.

I love the kind of travelling that is one part strategic planning and two parts spontaneous adventure. Whether I'm exploring my local city or a small town in the middle of nowhere, I'm always hoping to find something no one else has discovered.
