Dr Seuss Joins the World of Cruising
One ship, two ship, big ship, Fun Ship!
The quirky humour of children's author Dr Seuss will soon be available on Carnival Cruise Lines, after the company signed a partnership with Dr Seuss Enterprises.
Due to be rolled out across the entire fleet from the beginning of next year, Carnival's Seuss at Sea program will see a range of programs developed for the cruise line, including dining, entertainment and family offerings such as the Green Eggs and Ham breakfast. On the menu: green eggs and ham, of course, as well as moose and goose juice.
Staff will dress in Seuss-inspired uniforms, while popular characters such as The Cat in the Hat, Sam, Thing One and Thing Two will also make appearances. Movies based on Dr Seuss books will be screened, while a selection of the books themselves will be available for guests to enjoy. For younger children, Seuss-themed play zones will be rolled out in Kids Clubs, and interactive reading events, called Seuss-a-palooza Story Time, A Rhyming Good Time, will be hosted on a number of occasions throughout the cruise, to bring to life the colorful world of Dr. Seuss for kids of all ages.
Carnival Splendor will be the first vessel to receive the program, in February next year, and Australia's Carnival Spirit is set to receive it by spring. Future ships to be delivered - such as Carnival Vista - will also offer the program. The program will be implemented across the entire fleet of ships by 2015.
