Cunard’s Queen Mary 2 will operate a Transatlantic crossing to coincide with International Space Week in October 2017. For this amazing experience you get to step aboard in New York for the unique experience of a Queen Mary 2 Transatlantic Crossing to Southampton. Celebrate international World Space Week and join space experts from many fields including a NASA historian to discuss all aspects of space and its exploration.

Space themed guests on board include Jeffrey Hoffman, NASA Astronaut; Charles Barclay from the Royal Astronomical Society, and Stephen Attenborough, Virgin Galactic and Ken MacTaggart, NASA historian. All this to be enjoyed on the newly Remastered Queen Mary 2 is the epitome of a luxury liner. The flagship of the Cunard fleet offers the last word in travel luxury – from the largest ballroom at sea to the sumptuous Commodore Club.

Cunard ships have been crossing the Atlantic to and from New York since 1847, when they established the first regular service. Today only Queen Mary 2 regularly makes this journey and not only does she remain as glamorous and exciting as ever but a Transatlantic Crossing also remains one of travel’s most iconic experiences. As the boundless ocean surrounds you, surrender to the rhythms of dining, discovery, mingling and relaxing.

The beauty of it all is that every moment is yours to do exactly what you want. Ahead lies uninterrupted ocean and days that will be filled with music, dancing, laughter and priceless moments that will stay with you for years to come. Keep reading below to find out about filling your days at sea…Live Planetarium show. So if you have never been on Queen Mary 2 before, here is the opportunity to experience a virtual adventure to distant galaxies in the only planetarium at sea. Explore the night sky live with Royal Astronomical Society experts and find out what you will be able to see form the decks of the ship.

Music and dancing.

Live music will be the backdrop to your Transatlantic Crossing. A jazz trio ups the tempo in the Chart Room this evening, or you can take your seat for a classical recital in Illuminations. Occasionally Cunard hosts its very own Last Night of The Proms with the National Symphony Orchestra. In the Queens Room, the full orchestra fills the floor, whether on Big Band nights or at the dazzling Ascot ball.

Canyon Ranch Spa Club.

Take a deep breath and be revived by the scent of eucalyptus and the sound of the bubbling hydrotherapy bath. Enjoy the glorious leisure of a quiet retreat offering a tempting range of indulgent treatments. From exotic Ayurveda and Thai treatments to the ultimate indulgence – a cleansing Rasul Ceremony for couples.

Champagne afternoon tea.

Soon enough it will be time for the famous Afternoon Tea, served with freshly baked scones and mouth-watering sandwiches, beautifully presented by white-gloved waiters. For an extra special treat add a glass of bubbly from one of the seven different Veuve Clicquot Champagnes.

Exceptional dining.

If you have room after your divine afternoon tea, be sure to try the Chateaubriand or sea bass at the Verandah restaurant to sample the fine dining with a French flavour, or relish every mouthful of the testing menu at Lotus, whose delicacies include snow crab soup and duck spring rolls.

So fear not QM2 on their Atlantic crossings regularly feature amazing speakers and presenters from astral specialists to  Zanzibar experts - so why not make these iconic voyages even more special.
