Earlier this month Avalon Waterways christened its fourth Suite Ship class of vessel, Avalon Artistry II. This 64-stateroom  vessel is a unique ship, with 2 full decks of Panorama Suites with wall-to-wall panoramic windows opening up to create open-air balconies.

Avalon Artistry II - Panorama Suite

This new ship offers river cruisers a host of upgrades and enhancements on the Avalon offering, as well as a host of new on board amenities and services. The 128 passenger Avalon Artistry II offers a total of 52 suites, with all other staterooms being outside cabins. It's itineraries focus on the Rhine River, with sailings from Zurich to Amsterdam and Amsterdam to Basel.

Innovative Design

Avalon Artistry II is part of the newest class of ship from Avalon Waterways, and has been designed to revolutionise river cruising, and deliver the ultimate in comfort, style and superb service. A modern approach has been taken to technology and design, and onboard you will find revolutionary engineering, state-of-the-art navigational technologies and enhanced sound-proofing.

The décor is contemporary, with meticulous woodwork , hand-finished furnishings and elegant, polished metal and glass throughout. It all comes together to create an intimate yet innovative river cruise ship that is sure to deliver the ultimate river cruise experience.

Staterooms and Suites

The amazing Panorama Suites are 30% larger than industry standard, and the open-air balconies allow guests to wake up each morning to enchanting scenery and fresh breezes. All staterooms offer guests comfort Collection beds, memory foam mattress toppers, Egyptian cotton linen and European-style duvets, nightly turn-down service, L'Occitane bath amenities, a Flat screen TV, and bathrobes and slippers. Royal Suite guests also get to use an in-suite complimentary iPad.

Onboard Amenities and Dining

Onboard you will find a spacious Sky Deck with premium lounge chairs, a shade system, whirlpool and open-air bistro; an expanded fitness centre; a hair salon; complimentary Wi-Fi access and an internet corner. Each cruise will offer guests a Captain's reception, with sparkling wine and canapés  as well as a Welcome Dinner and a 5 course Farewell dinner. Breakfast and lunch are a buffet affair, and guests can head to the Panorama Lounge for afternoon tea, social hour and drinks specials. There is also a self-serve beverage station offering complimentary tea, hot chocolate and premium coffees throughout the day.

Dinner is a 4 course feast, using seasonal cuisine and fresh local ingredients to create gourmet meals. Dinner is served with complimentary regional wines, beer or soft drinks. Guests can also have an alternate dining experience with local specialities and lighter fare at the Panorama Bistro, and purchase an all-inclusive drink package for those extra drink choices.

Christening Ceremony

Avalon Artistry II was christened by high-profile Philippine travel personality, Marilen Sandejas-Yaptangco, during a canal-side ceremony in the historic Dutch town of Middelburg, who said, “may all who sail on these rivers in this beautiful vessel enjoy their voyage and take home the joy and friendship of a shared journey”.
