Carnival Legend Itineraries Released

Posted May 29th, 2013

Carnival Cruise Lines has announced further details of the upcoming Carnival Legend deployment in Australia. The cruise company's local capacity will increase by 50% next year, when Legend joins year-round sister ship, Carnival Spirit, for its own inaugural "Down Under" summer season.

Carnival Legend

Carnival Cruise Line's Director Australasia, Jennifer Vandekreeke, said that Legend would operate 8 to 12 night cruises to the Pacific Islands, from Sydney, with destinations including New Caledonia, Vanuatu and Fiji. This would provide flexibility for some innovations in Carnival Spirit voyages.

Next year, Spirit will introduce a series of Sydney-based 3 night "cruises to nowhere" - 3 of which will depart on a Friday night so you won't even need to take a day off from work. Spirit will also operate her first Melbourne Cup Cruise, an 8 night voyage including 3 nights in Melbourne.

Carnival Legend will arrive in Sydney on 23 September 2014, staying until April 2015, before returning for a second summer in 2015/16.

As a sister ship to Carnival Spirit, Carnival Legend offers the same wide open spaces, an abundance of stateroom options such as balconies and interconnecting rooms, and an unparalleled variety of activities. Legend also boasts 16 bars and lounges, 3 pools, 4 spas and the all important adults-only Serenity Retreat.

Carnival Legend will go into drydock in 2014, where she will receive a range of upgrades to ensure she is perfectly suited for the tastes of Australian cruisers. Some of the best received "Aussification" upgrades on Carnival Spirit are already in the works for Legend, such as the new and improved coffee, Australian beer, wine and menu selections, no tipping policy and Aussie power points.

Further details of the ship's onboard product will be available by the end of July, and we will be sure to give you a full review of what you can expect on board the "Aussified" Carnival Legend.
