A wave unlike any other is due to Australian shores this summer when the newly revamped Voyager of the Seas arrives for her cruising season in November this year. Details of her multimillion-dollar revitalisation have been announced, with the top announcement being that we will see Australia's largest ship packed with even more amenities, including the first FlowRider surfing simulator on a ship in our waters!
Voyager's month-long bow-t0-stern makeover will be adding innovative cruising features similar to those found on the newer Quantum-- and Oasis-class ships, such as inside rooms with real-time virtual balconies, a 3D cinema, new dining options include a sushi restaurant, and much more.
Ride the perfect wave at any time on your next cruise - on shore, or in the middle of the ocean. With the FlowRider you never have to wait for good wind conditions - you can test your skills on the 12m long surf simulator at any time! You can also watch others take on the challenge from the nearby stadium, or hone your skills with a private lesson.
Now you can have a view of the ocean even when you book an inside cabin! A virtual balcony will provide select inside cabins with real-time sights and sounds of the sea, displayed on a high definition screen framed to look like real balcony. This concept was an industry first for the Quantum class of ships, and Voyager of the Seas will be 1 of only 3 ships to offer this unique feature.
Virtual balconies are being added to Voyager of the Seas
Already a huge hit on the world's biggest ships, Allure of the Seas and Oasis of the Seas, now you will also be able to get all the action in 3D on Voyager of the Seas new movie theatre. All you have to do is sit back and prepare to be wowed as new releases from DreamWorks and other film studios come to life in stunning 3D! Plus, there will also be an outdoor movie screen by the pool which will screen movies and be used for giant video game challenges.
Voyager of the Seas will have a wide array of delectable dining options added during the refurbishment, including fresh sushi at Izumi Japanese Cuisine, Royal Caribbean's signature Chop's Grille Steakhouse, and Giovanni's Table Italian Trattoria, Plus, the ship's Champagne Bar will be re-conceptualised into the retro-chic R Bar, channelling the sophisticated 1960's era, complete with iconic furnishings and signature cocktails created by mixologists. There will also be a new Diamond Lounge for Crown & Anchor guests to enjoy.
Voyager of the Seas will have a host of up-to-the-minute technologies added included new digital signage to help you find your way around the ship and to find out what's happening onboard, bow-to-stern Wi-Fi service and flat panel televisions in every stateroom.
