Azamara Club Cruises Upgrades in 2013

Posted October 3rd, 2012

This year, Azamara Club Cruises was rated Best Overall, Best for Service and Best for Value by the world's largest online cruise community. But, they are determined not to rest on their laurels, and have some big changes planned for their 2013 Europe season, including exciting new enhancements and all-inclusive features.

More Inclusive Amenities

Starting with their 2013 season in Europe, Azamara Club Cruises' fare will include an "open-bar" policy, with an international selection of beers, red and white wine, as well as standard spirits, being available throughout the ship, at all bars, for no extra charge. There will also be complimentary wine and beer with lunch and dinner.

This is in addition to many other signature amenities which are already included, such as:

  • Bottled water, soft drinks, speciality coffees and teas throughout the ship
  • English-trained butlers for suite guests
  • Self-service laundry
  • Shuttle service to and from ports, where available
  • And Concierge service for personal guidance and reservations

AzAmazing Evenings

Another planned improvement is the inclusion of an evening tour - called AzAmazing Evenings, one tour will be offered to every passenger per cruise. These night time events are expected to take place on shore at a venue that highlights the local culture, food and drinks. Azamara Club Cruises have said these free tours could range from "a night at the ballet at the Mikhailovsky Theatre in St Petersburg or a polo match and reception in Saint Tropez". The AzAmazing Evenings highlight another Azamara point of difference - the fact that their ships often stay overnight, or until midnight, at many ports in Europe, giving you even more time to discover your destination. However, to make way for this new program, the cruise line will be ceasing its 50% off shore excursions offer.

Ship-wide Refinements

Both European boutique hotel-style ships will also receive a host of refinements when they enter drydock. Azamara Quest will go into drydock in November 2012, and Azamara Journey is scheduled in for January 2013.
Dining Experience:
  • New caviar and champagne bar in Aqualina
  • New Chef's Table concept with 3 wine degustation menus - Italian, French, Californian
  • Freshly brewed cup of Nespresso bespoke coffee for purchase at Mosaic Cafe
  • New contemporary colour palette in Mosaic Cafe, Discoveries Restaurant and Lounge
  • New furniture and an expanded and new bar area in the Casino Bar
Fitness and Spa Experience:
  • Upgraded steam room and showers
  • New state-of-the-art Life Fitness cardio equipment
Ship Enhancements:
  • New dark blue painted hulls
  • New carpets and upholstery
  • Re-surfaced pool with new sun loungers and pool towels
  • Captain's Quarters will be refurbished to allow for small, intimate cocktail gatherings
Stateroom and Suite Upgrades:
  • New mattresses in all suites and staterooms
  • Newly refurbished balconies with upgraded furniture
Crew Experience:
  • Significant upgrades and enhancements to crew areas, to continue to attract the best crew available
The ship-wide refinements will be done during each scheduled drydock, while the all-inclusive alcohol policy will be effective from 27 March 2013 on the Azamara Quest, and 15 May 2013 on the Azamara Journey.
