APT Amps Up Its Culinary Offerings On The Mekong

Posted October 12th, 2015

Holidays on the Mekong are set to get a whole lot more luxurious with APT's luxury refurbishment of RV AmaLotus. Due to set sail on August 1, 2016, the significant revamp will treat cruisers to an unparalleled level of service never before seen on the Mekong.

Overnight spoils as part of this exciting makeover include 54 luxuriously appointed balcony suites, which come with fully-stocked mini bars and free laundry services as standard.

Those who choose the opulence of a Sadec Deck suite will also be treated to Silver Butler Service, while guests lucky enough to stay in one of four Owner's Suite will be lavished with Gold Butler Service, nightly in-suite pre-dinner canapés and a welcome bottle of Champagne.

But perhaps the most exciting aspect of all is what awaits on the ship's culinary landscape. Acclaimed restaurateur, chef, author and television personality Luke Nguyen helped design aspects of the onboard menu across three dining locations.

The Sadec Deck is the home of new eatery, Le Viet Nam Cafe, where guests can enjoy morning and afternoon tea as they watch the world go by.

'Indochine by Luke Nguyen' is the ship's exclusive private dining experience. All guests will have the chance to sample the decadent six-course degustation dinner served at the intimate 16-seat restaurant.

What's more, guests will enjoy a special on board Signature Welcome Dinner designed by Luke himself.

Alongside Luke's involvement in Indochine by Luke Nguyen’, APT's Asia Ambassador will also host two itineraries in 2016.

The 14-day Luke Nguyen’s Vietnam and Mekong River Cruise departs on July 29 and December 2, 2016. Both commence with three nights in Saigon, where Luke hosts a walking (and eating) tour of the city's finest street food vendors and to see where his parents grew up.

Guests will also attend a cooking class at Luke's Grain Cooking School and enjoy several special dinners. Fans of this much-loved chef should ensure they're onboard the August 1 and December 5, 2016 sailings of the AmaLotus to partake in a ‘Getting to Know You’ session with Luke.

“In 2016, APT is proud to unveil its most exciting Vietnam and Cambodia program to date. We’re especially proud because once again it delivers an outstanding luxury holiday experience while also delivering exceptional value," says APT Executive General Manager Global Sales and Marketing Debra Fox.

"APT’s relationship with Luke Nguyen offers guests something that’s unique. Our investment in the AmaLotus combined with our high standards of customer service, all inclusive lifestyle, unforgettable sightseeing programs and well-considered itineraries ensure that we deliver the best available product in this destination."
