Posted January 1st, 2016

It’s hard to believe that 2015 is over. While it has been a year filled with plenty of cruising highlights, we are already looking forward eagerly to what 2016 has to bring us… including seven brand new cruise ships for all you travellers and adventurers to enjoy!

These new vessels hit the heights of luxury and innovation, adding yet another dimension to the cruising experience. From the Pacific Rim to the great waterways of Europe, keep an eye out for these ships popping up in the Cruiseabout directory. You might even see one in a port near you!

Ovation of the Seas - Royal Caribbean

The newest addition to Royal Caribbean’s Quantum Class, the Ovation of the Seas will be making its Australian debut in December 2016 after exploring China and Southeast Asia, so we’ve still got a while to wait. But it will most definitely be worth it! Catering to up to 4,180 passengers, the Ovation of the Seas will offer an array of incredible activities, entertainment and dining options. Featuring such facilities as the greatly-anticipated North Star℠ gondola, which is suspended over the ship’s edge for 360⁰ views, and the RipCord by iFLY®, where guests can fly in an air machine, this ship will host countless unforgettable experiences.

Seabourn Encore - Seabourn

The Encore will be the crowning jewel in the Seabourn fleet, introducing the next stage of evolution to one of the most modern and acclaimed lines in the ultra-luxury small-ship cruising segment. This highly anticipated ship will feature the work of respected hospitality designer Adam D. Tihany and aims to surprise and delight guests with design elements often found in private yachts. It will hold up to 600 guests and will have its maiden voyage in December 2016, with itineraries visiting the Mediterranean, Dubai, Istanbul and Southeast Asia.

The Seven Seas Explorer will set sail for the first time in July 2016, taking a new standard of elegance and sophistication to the water. Debuting in Monaco, it has been hailed as the most luxurious ship ever built, with spacious on-board accommodation and exquisite dining for its 750 passengers. The ship’s inaugural season also features destinations such as Venice, Zadar, Istanbul, Alexandria and Barcelona.
