12 Hours in Miami

Approximately 48 kilometres south of the port is the vibrant city of Miami, famous for its Cuban influences, trendy night life, sandy beaches and Art Deco scene. 8am – Make your way to Miami.
At Port Everglades, there is an abundance of taxis, shuttles and vans on hand when leaving the terminal. Similarly, at the nearby Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, you’ll find several modes of transport available. 9am – Explore Wynwood.
Start the day with an explosion of colour by making the neighbourhood of Wynwood your first stop. Here you’ll discover a part of Miami teeming with art, culture and creativity. 10:30am – Vizcaya Museum and Gardens.
Continue to get your fill of culture with a visit to this amazingly picturesque estate, which was built in 1916 and listed as a National Historic Landmark in 1995. Ideal for lovers of nature and architecture, the villa features thousands of art objects and furnishings, and beautifully maintained European-inspired gardens. Visitors will also enjoy stunning views of Biscayne Bay from here.
12pm – Have a bite to eat at Coconut Grove.
The Vizcaya Museum and Gardens is located in north Coconut Grove, so you won’t have far to travel for a delicious lunch in this charming town. Take your time choosing an eatery and simply enjoy pottering around and soaking up the quiet and quaint vibes.
1:30pm – Wander around Little Havana.
Now that you’re feeling reenergised, head over to Little Havana to check out Miami’s distinct Cuban soul. From murals and cigar shops to strong coffees and domino playing, life here is unique and fascinating.Helicopter view of South Beach, Miami
2:30pm – South Beach and Miami Beach.
A trip to Miami is incomplete without a visit to its famous Miami Beach area and South Beach. Have a dip in the welcoming waters, lay on the beach and relax after hours of being on the go, and drop in at one of the trendy bars for a refreshing cocktail or two. For a quieter, more relaxed vibe, stick with the mid to north area of Miami Beach. Keen for more of a thumping, party atmosphere? South Beach is the place to be.
5:30pm – Dinner and a stroll on Fort Lauderdale Beach.
Give yourself plenty of time to make the trip back to Fort Lauderdale and then head to Fort Lauderdale Beach. Here you can rest easy knowing you’re not far from your cruise ship and can pair superb ocean views with a plate of mouth-watering cuisine.
8pm – Return to the cruise ship.
After an action-packed day filled with many sights and experiences, it’s time to board your cruise ship and rest up before another day of non-stop fun!
