Viking Emerald is a beautiful, state-of-the-art ship built in 2011 for cruising along the Yangtze River. Accommodating 256 guests in 128 comfortable outside staterooms, all with full verandas and hotel-style beds, Viking Emerald is one of the most sophisticated river ships in the world. The ship’s hotel operations are managed by Viking River Cruises Swiss-trained management team, employing the best and most knowledgeable English-speaking staff.

Onboard multi-media talks connect and illuminate the local culture with lectures on China’s dynasties, the Great Wall of China, or the Terracotta Army. Due to the nature of its river cruise itineraries, Viking River Cruises does not offer facilities or services for children onboard their vessels. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanies by a parent, legal guardian or other responsible adult over the age of 21, and they must share a cabin. Children under the age of 12 cannot be accommodated.
