Cruise on board Hurtigruten's MS Lofoten
Providing cruise ship passengers with a nostalgic experience, the MS Lofoten is the oldest ship in Hurtigruten’s fleet. First setting sail in 1964, the ship is part of Norway’s cultural heritage and is protected by the Norwegian Director General of Historic Monuments.
Most recently refurbished in 2003, the ship retains much of the original stylings. Wood panelling, polished wooden floors and brass railings feature throughout – a nod to the ship’s heritage. The gorgeous lounge areas and panoramic decks offer comfy armchairs and sofas to relax in while you cruise the coastal areas.
Cruising along the northern and western coast of Norway, with some itineraries cruising from Bergen to Kirkenes, the MS Lofoten offers an exceptional Norwegian tour experience. Longer cruises cross the Arctic Circle and cruise past the Lofoten Islands, the ship’s namesake. A round trip journey, covering the length of Norway, is completed within an 11-night cruise.
The best viewpoints along the ship include the Panorama Lounge and the sun decks. The plush seating and 270-degree views of the Panorama Lounge allow passengers to take in the gorgeous sights of the Norwegian coastline. The MS Lofoten also offers a special onboard celebration, known as the Arctic Circle Ceremonial baptism, to mark the arrival into Arctic territory.
